Age restrictions
To participate in Hexcon you need to be old enough to have started middle school. Younger children must be accompanied by an adult, and have free admission. It is up to the individual game host to allow children to participate.

Price
Hexcon strives to be accessible to all, so all tickets have ordinary and reduced prices. Based on your own economic situation, you choose which ticket best suites you.
Full admission: 530 NOK ordinary / 290 NOK reduced
Day ticket: 290 NOK ordinary / 170 NOK reduced
Discounts:
- Signup before 13 November: 40 NOK
- Member of Hexagon game club: 50 NOK
- Volounteering: 50 NOK per session
Food and drinks
We sell some food, snacks, and soft drinks at the venue (assuming enough volounteers) at our concession stand. Also, there are several grocery stores in the area.
The Hexcon bazaar
Hexcon has a bazaar with games of all types. Game hosts and volounteers receive coupons to purchase games.
Theme
This year's theme is The Roaring Twenties! : Et tiår preget av økonomisk vekst; sosial, kunstnerisk og kulturell dynamikk; jazz, flappers og Art Deco; og forbudstid, gangstere og smuglere.
Playing games
There will be organised and free gaming under Hexcon. Organised games are in the programme, and you can sign up. Free gaming happens when someone brings a game (from home or borrowing from Hexcon's collection), and finds someone to play with. Most games are open for everyone, and rules will be explained. A few games require knowledge or preparation, but if so this will be mentioned in the programme.
Sessions
Hexcon is divided into sessions, as seen in the programme. Events can last one or more session. Before each session, every player (who is not otherwise occupied) gather in the common area, and the next session's events will be announced. You may join a game you are signed up for, or join something that sounds interesting. Between each session there is a short break so that you may buy food, mingle, or watch other games.
Host a game
See the programme for an overview over games at Hexcon. It is of course possible to spontaneously host a game during the festival. At the festival there will be a physical overview of the programme, where it is possible to add new events, or you can announce your intentions at the start of a new session to gather players.
Post con dinner
After Hexcon is finished on Sunday, those who wish to join gather at a restaurant for a nice dinner.
Code of conduct
Hexcon strives to be a nice and safe place for all those interested in games, regardless of gender identity and -expression, orientation, function, ethnic background, religion or creed, appearance, or age. The ensure this, we have a code of conduct.
Universal access
We are more than willing to try to accommodate people with special needs, but have limited practical experience. Please contact us and let us know how we can help you participate at and enjoy the convention. If you have questions or wish to let us know in advance so that we can prepare, contact us at hexcon@hexcon.no
Vision impairment
Most board games and miniature games are unfortunately poorly suited for the blind. There are games suitable for those with reduced vision; see for example this list from Boardgamegeek.
Most role playing games are suitable for the vision impaired.
Hearing impaired
Many board games are well suited for the hearing impaired. Explaining the rules may take longer time, so if you are hearing impaired and wish to learn a new game, it may be a good idea to contact us in advance so that we can set aside sufficient time.
Most role playing games are ill suited for the greatly hearing impaired, unless the other players know sign language.
If you cannot make it to the con
If you have prepaid for Hexcon but are not able to make it, please contact us for a full refund. If, at the time of the con, you believe you have a contagious disease, please stay at home as a courtesy to the other participants (you will of course get a full refund).
Guides
Guides have free admission, and get the same type of ticket (full or day pass) as the guided person has.
