Hexcon is a great opportunity to find others enthusiasts to play with, and we are happy to host games of all types. It is easy to host a game; contact the committee at hexcon@hexcon.no ; include the following information:

    • Name of the event (for role playing games, both the system and the name of the scenario)
    • Type of event (board and card games, role playing game, miniature game, or other)
    • Name and email of the host
    • The session in which you wish to host the game (a game may extend over multiple sessions)
    • Pre-requisites: No knowledge necessary / Some knowledge necessary / Knowledge necessary
    • A description of the game/event so that participants can tell if they wish to join or not. Include everything participants must know, including if they need to prepare anything before the game begins

During Hexcon

It's no problem if you decide that you wish to host a game during Hexcon. We always accept new games and add them to the programme.

Start of the session

Before each session all available players gather in the common area. All events for that session will be announced, and you can bring your players to your event. If you have any questions, please contact the committee! When event sign-up opens, everyone will be able to see the number of people who have signed up. If you need to see their names, please contact the committee.

Who will play?

Sometimes an event is so popular that there are more people who wish to join than there are slots available. In these cases, the players who have signed up for the event, in priority from first to last who signed up. If there are players who are not on the list, you may draw lots or roll a dice.

We ask that everyone wait in the common area until announcements have finished, so that players who are supernumerary at their preferred game may join another game with available slots.

Practical tips

If your event has multiple groups of players, it is a good idea to have decided in advance how an overall winner is to be selected, and inform your players about this.

If you are hosting a role playing game or laiv, it's a good idea to have all necessary material (including rules, character sheets, and player aids) available before the game starts.
